Goerge and Louis,
We are most impressed by you projects on the eagles and the crocodiles. Those sea eagles are very graceful but very deadly hunters. I remember seeing one pluck a khawai from the top of a wave and carry the big fish off to a high perch so that he could tear it up and eat it.
George, I heard you could hold a crocodile's moth closed with you hands, but if he has his mouth open, noone could stop him from snapping it shut. You will need at least 3 friends to prove this - one to hold his tail and stop it lashing you, one to hold its back legs to stop it running away, and one to hold its front legs to stop it rolling around. Then you gently but firmly hold its mouth closed to stop it biting you. Make sure mum and dad are watching out for its friends when you try this.
Love

Dear George and Louis and Nick,
The jar is groaning with money. Floods of letters and pictures have been flying over from Australia. Not only have we been getting pages of news and information, all written on the lines with capitals and full stops in the right places , but both George's and Louis's letters has PSs in them. I wonder if you know what PS stands for. The big thing seems to be the snake in the garden. Remember to make noise when you go outside. That will frighten off the snakes. Just as well you have a pool.
Hamish emailed and said he had a wonderful time. He found it very hot, and said you kept him and Nadine very busy, and they loved staying. Hamish looked as if he had eaten too much icecream. I'll get on to him whhen he comes to babysit the house. Thankyou so much for the beautiful paper plane, and another creation which I couldn't work out! I can scarcely believe Louis' printing has become so good, and George wrote 2 and 1/2 pages. Dad's effort wasn't as neat because he wasn't on the line, but the information he gave us earned high marks (but no money) We're having Justin's birthday this weekend, and last weekend we went down to the Waikato. We walked up the Blue springs track near Putaruru, and the following day visited the Maungatautari Reserve where they have a pest proof fence right around a whole mountain.
Hope you are all enjoying the camping.
Love Carol
PS We need help to crack the macadamias. There is a big crop this year and our neighbours dont seem to pick up any of them.
