Ratburger by David Walliams
Reviewed by Louis and George Butler

Ratburger is a story about a 12 year old girl called Zoe who is upset because her pet hamster, Gingernut has suddenly died. Zoe lives in a crumbling down tower block with her mean step mother Shelia and her sad Dad, who has lost his job. Soon Zoe finds a rat in her bedroom who becomes a replacement pet, named Armitage (after a toilet company…don’t ask!) After being suspended for taking Armitage to school, Zoe goes home to find Burt, the disgusting school burger man and pest exterminator in her room looking for a rat. Burt grabs Armitage and says he is taking him to his pulverising factory as evil Shelia laughs and locks Zoe in her room. Zoe must save Armitage and fight the evil villains and needs the help of some special people along the way. Soon they will discover the awful truth about Burt’s burgers, the ketchup and how Gingernut died…..                                                                                         Thoughts from Louis
I think Ratburger is funny and ends well. It is funny because Raj eats snot off the roof of his shop and when blind Burt drives around knocking over people & cars. It ends well when Burt & Shelia get pulverised! I give this 9/10
Thoughts from George
I think Ratburger is an exciting book because it is full of mystery like how did Gingernut die and what is in the ketchup? It is a funny and gross book because Raj eats snot off the roof of his shop. Ratburger is about never giving up and keeping your dreams alive. I give this book 9/10.

Hi George and Louis,
We are most impressed by your adventures and your projects. We have lots of questions. Perhaps Dad could get you to write the anwers in your exercise books, so that you can show us when we see you again.
Q1: In your Anzac project, do you think it was a smart move to invade the stoney beach at Gallipoli whe there were lots of defenders with machineguns defending the bay?
Q2.Who were the foreign invaders, and who were defending their homeland at Gallipoli?
Q3. Why do NZ cities hold dawn services to commemorate the landings at GAllipoli, and what happens at the services?
Q4. What is Kakadu and where is it? How do you get there?
Q5 Can you swim in the Adelaide River? Would you like to float down it in a rubber tube?
Q5. When climbing around rocky cliffs what do you do to be extra careful?
Q6. What sort of snake is a python? Does it have poisonous fangs? What does it eat and how does it catch its food?
Q7.How did the people who lived in Australia 5000 year ago make pictures on the rocks?
Q8. Who eats those delicious ratburgers shown in your picture.
Q9. Where is the best water slide you have been on? How long was it, and do you drop into thew deep water at the end?
Q10. Crocodiles like swimming. When do they come out of the water, and how far up the banks and into the bush do they venture?
